About
Welcome to Hartford Road Pizza, an inviting and family-friendly eatery located at 250 Hartford Rd, Manchester, CT. With a reputation for serving authentic Greek-style pizza, this gem has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. As I stepped inside, I was immediately met with a warm atmosphere and the enticing aroma of freshly baked pizza.
What makes Hartford Road Pizza stand out? First and foremost, their crust. Described by customers as having a "beautiful crunch" and "wonderful flavor," this dough strikes a perfect balance between airy and sturdy. Gary K. perfectly captures this sentiment, likening the pizza to what you’d expect if someone's grandma baked it — a comforting, nostalgic experience with every bite. The crust isn't overly doughy, unlike some Sicilian varieties, providing an ideal base for their generous toppings.
The sauce also deserves a shoutout. Reflecting the rich essence of old-school Italian recipes, it creates a delightful harmony with the cheese, which is thoughtfully selected to avoid the greasiness found in many pizzerias. One bite, and you'll find yourself transported back to the cozy Friday nights of your childhood, just like John-Paul Mayhew experienced.
In addition to pizza, Hartford Road Pizza offers a lineup of complementary dishes and beverages. Customers rave about their homemade clam chowder, a dish that truly elevates the dining experience with its creamy texture and seasoned perfection. For those looking to sip alongside their meal, the draft beer selection, including Ten Penny Brewing's Penny Weisse and Sam Adam's Boston Lager, nicely pairs with any pizza option — enhancing the flavor and overall enjoyment of your meal.
Moreover, the restaurant's atmosphere is another highlight. As Chad Anderson points out, the dog-friendly patio provides a comfortable space for guests, making it an ideal setting for both families and pet lovers to unwind. The staff here goes the extra mile, treating each visitor like family, fostering a sense of community that encourages repeat visits.
In essence, Hartford Road Pizza is not just a place to grab a quick slice; it’s an experience to savor. Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch, a family gathering, or simply to enjoy a relaxed evening with friends, Hartford Road Pizza promises delicious meals and the warmth of good company. The combination of friendly service and mouthwatering food will make you want to return again and again.

“ Awesome place to stop at, great food. The pizza is a Greek style ( puffy crust ) Beautiful crunch, wonderful flavor. Taste like someone's grandma made it. Sauce is very nice, reminds of like a lasagna sauce a little bit. Bread is great very well done. it's thicc, sturdy with a perfect crunch. Not crazy doughy like so sicilian pizzas can be. Cheese is classic old school Italian cheese not greasy. I wish it had more pull to it but to honest I wouldn't change a thing. I do wish they had more on draft. But with being said the draft lines a clean, with is a dig deal to me. Choices are Ten Penny brewing - penny weisse Sam Adam's - Boston lager Not a bad selection of brews, to go with the food they make. These beers definitely complement anything that you could order here. Stop in say hello get treated like family, I will be back again. thank you Hartford pizza restaurant. Cheer's you'll see me again soon. ”
“ I'm just gonna keep this one. Nice and short and sweet, it's a must go. They have a patio, which is dog friendly. No one else has that no 1 great staff. Great food, great atmosphere. You can sit and relax and feel comfortable with the upgraded upbeat feel Enjoy ”
“ I purchased a large order of Pizza's for a presentation at a local Assisted Living. The staff /family was very professional, kind and understanding as for my request. The pizza bought me back to my childhood and a local pizza restaurant that every Friday night we would pick up. This pizza was made pizza should be made with ample sauce and the cheese. I have to say when I am in the area this will be my place to stop for lunch Whole pie or just a slice. Thank you for staying true to art of Pizza. ”
“ My wife and I visited this spot after my super fun colonoscopy that I had nearby earlier in the day. I was ready to EAT, and was soooooo excited about the sausage, potato, and spinach pizza I'd had many years earlier at Gino's in Glastonbury. I wasn't sure if it could match it, as the "original" was insanely delicious, but WOW was this pizza incredible!!! It was better than I'd remembered, and something about the crispiness/chewiness of the crust made it extra special. We were also offered to try some Clam Chowder, which we are both suckers for, and it was STELLAR. Truly. A homemade recipe that has just the right amount of clams, potatoes, creaminess, and solid seasoning where it elevates the chowder to awesomeness vs. what most places serve. Loved it. The owner (and I think her mom who made the chowder) were extremely friendly, and we loved our visit there and will definitely be going back. I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews of this establishment because it's not the experience nor the vibe we had at all. No restaurant is perfect, but this little shop smacked it out the park for our visit. Great job, and thank you! ”
“ The environment here is so welcoming, the prices are reasonable and best for last, the pizza is absolutely, amazingly delicious! ”
“ I had a sausage peppers and onion pizza. The crust was fluffy the sauce was a little tangy and there was the perfect amount of peppers, onions sausage, and cheese. It was a great meal. ”
“ We were traveling from Long Island looking at colleges and needed a place to grab lunch. The food was amazing and the service from the owner was top notch. ”
“ This pizza is crazy. Definitely NOT your ordinary pizza. It’s a thick crunchy outside, puffy inside, and tavern cut (square cut) crust. All the toppings are actually nestled under the cheese ready to be there for every bite you take. The staff is always fun to interact with. This pizza place is like no other I’ve ever experienced before. Worth the try, because you’ll go back for sure. Try the homemade meatballs or tuna. Try the stuffed cheesy breads. Try the famous Spinach Specialty Pizza. You can’t go wrong. ”
